During the 8th China International Import Expo, Olympus showcased a variety of endoscopes and supporting equipment manufactured at its Chinese facilities, including an electronic upper gastrointestinal endoscope featuring a dual-focus design and a 4K 3D fluorescence endoscope image processing system. Also on display was the OER-5 endoscope cleaning and disinfection device, which can complete the cleaning and disinfection of two standard flexible endoscopes in just 17 minutes.

The company’s Vāsuki robotic system leverages AI-powered navigation technology to automate colonoscopy procedures, potentially reducing the rate of missed diagnoses associated with traditional colonoscopies.

At the Healthcare and Medical Services section of the Beijing Fair for Trade in Services, Beijing You’an Hospital showcased two innovatively developed endoscopy-related devices. Among them, the AI-powered panoramic diagnostic and positioning capsule endoscopy system enables high-definition imaging of the digestive tract and rapid AI-based diagnosis. The endoscopic bariatric surgery system allows surgeons to enter the stomach via endoscopy to perform suturing and reduce stomach volume—all without the need for open surgery. This project has already completed 10 clinical trials and is currently being submitted for approval through the National Medical Products Administration’s innovative “green channel.”

The domestically produced Olympus X1 camera body has been approved for market launch. In the same month, MicroPort’s EZ-Eye™5100 and Ruyi Tong™5100 series endoscopic systems received approval from the Shanghai Medical Products Administration. These products integrate technologies such as 100x optical intelligent focusing, which can significantly improve the detection rate of early-stage cancer lesions.
