Endoscope Insertion Tube

The endoscope’s insertion tube is the slender, flexible, and bendable portion of the endoscope’s main body. During examinations or surgical procedures, it serves to penetrate deep into the body’s natural cavities (such as the digestive tract or respiratory tract) or surgically created channels. It can be likened to the endoscope’s “backbone” and “vanguard.” The insertion tube is primarily used in flexible endoscopes.
  • Product Description
  • The endoscope’s insertion tube is the slender, flexible, and bendable portion of the endoscope’s main body. Specifically, its applications are closely tied to the type of endoscope:
Gastrointestinal endoscopes—used for procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy—feature relatively long insertion tubes (ranging from 1 meter to over 1.6 meters) and must exhibit excellent pushability and torque response to navigate smoothly through the complex intestinal tract.
Bronchoscope: Used for respiratory system examinations, it features a thinner tube diameter (typically less than 6 millimeters) and requires extremely high flexibility to pass through narrow airways.
Ureteral flexible endoscope: Used in urology, the insertion tube is not only extremely thin but also highly bend-resistant and waterproof, enabling retrograde access to the ureter and kidneys.
