Features:
1. The procedure fully utilizes the nasal passages to access the skull base, thereby avoiding the large bone window, scalp incision, and brain tissue retraction typically required in conventional craniotomy.
2. The endoscope can reach deep into the skull base, including the pituitary fossa and the sellar region, providing a magnified, bright, and high-definition surgical view with no blind spots.
3. In addition to the 0° direct-view mirror, the 30° and 45° mirrors are essential. By rotating the mirror body, it is possible to visualize microscopic “blind spots” on the lateral and posterior sides of the tumor.
4. The endoscope itself provides the field of vision, enabling the physician to perform delicate procedures simultaneously with both hands using specialized, elongated, and thin instruments (such as suction devices, bipolar electrocoagulators, and curettes).
