Endoscopy Air /Water Suction Valve

The suction/water-suction valve for medical endoscopes is a critical manual control valve installed on the operating handle; it can be likened to the endoscope’s “breathing switch” and “cleaning hub.”
  • Product Description
  • The suction/water-suction valve for medical endoscopes is a critical manually operated valve installed on the control handle, often referred to as the endoscope’s “breathing switch” and “cleaning hub.” It typically consists of a component equipped with an air-port button, and its primary functions include:
    1. Inhalation: When the valve button is pressed and its side port is covered, the instrument channel of the endoscope is connected to an external negative-pressure suction system, allowing fluids, smoke, or tiny tissue fragments within the cavity to be aspirated and keeping the field of view clear.
    2. Water/Gas Delivery: When the entire valve button is fully covered (typically by pressing it with one finger), it triggers a flow of water from the water bottle or gas, used for rinsing the mirror surface or dilating the cavity.

The suction/water-suction valve has exactly the same application scope as all endoscopes that require suction and water/air delivery through instrument channels. This primarily includes:
Digestive endoscopy—such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and duodenoscopy—involves frequent aspiration of digestive fluids and rinsing of the endoscope lens during examinations.
Respiratory endoscopy: such as bronchoscopy, used to suction secretions from the respiratory tract.
Flexible endoscopes—general purpose: Other flexible endoscopes equipped with instrument channels may also be fitted with this valve.
